ARTICLE 1 - Title
The name of the organization is the British Columbia Nurse Practitioner Association.
ARTICLE 2 - Purposes
- To provide a sustainable and professional organization for Nurse Practitioners in the province of British Columbia.
- To promote and foster excellence in Nurse Practitioner practice
- To educate the public, government and other health care professionals about the role of the Nurse Practitioner and to act as advisors and experts to key stakeholders on Nurse Practitioner practice issues.
- To provide networking opportunities for Nurse Practitioners within the BCNPA and other registered nurses through membership in the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC).
- To provide opportunities for affiliations with other provincial, national and international Nurse Practitioner organizations.
- To promote communication, collegiality, and mutual respect among Nurse Practitioners provincially, nationally and internationally.
- To identify and provide continuing education and research opportunities for Nurse Practitioners.
- To influence government and other health care professionals on critical health issues which affect the well-being of British Columbians.
